Fair Trade at Work in the Public Sector
A module has been designed specifically for people working in the public sector in Scotland. With increasing emphasis placed on wider issues of concern such as the climate emergency, sustainability, social justice, and global citizenship, this module seeks to highlight how the public sector can contribute to tackling these issues.
The module supports learners to:
- Find out what Fair Trade and being a Fair Trade Nation means, and how it helps tackle wider issues of concern, including climate change, sustainability and inequality
- Discover why Fair Trade is good for Scotland, and how this fits into the work of the public sector
- Consider how to engage in Fair Trade to help further their own workplace aims and add value to their actions

Module Overview
Chapter 1: What is Fair Trade? Analysis of the 10 principles of Fair Trade.
Chapter 2: Why does Fair Trade matter to Scotland’s public sector? Fair Trade and its relevance to: Global Citizenship, the Sustainable Development Goals, the Scottish policy landscape, and procurement.
Chapter 3: How to engage with Fair Trade at Work? Case studies and ways to engage.
