Who We Are

Louise has worked to promote sustainability and social justice issues for over 20 years. She believes deeply in Fair Trade as a powerful tool for sustainable development, has been a local campaigner, and has run her own Fair Trade shop.

Sissa is a 2020 graduate of Glasgow Clyde College with an HND in Administration and IT. Sissa was the President of the Student Association and she has a passion for sustainability, fair treatment, and excellent organisation.

Board of Trustees

Driven by his experience in developing countries, ex-diplomat Andy co-founded Koolskools in 2010. He saw firsthand how Fairtrade can empower marginalised communities, with even small amounts of income making a big difference.

Andy Ashcroft

Alissa is a master’s student in Political Communication at the University of Glasgow. After completing her undergraduate degree, she interned with Scottish Fair Trade, supporting the youth campaign. She is particularly interested in applying campaign strategies to benefit people and planet.

Alissa Hultman

Andrew works part-time as Campaigns, Communications, and Events Coordinator for Justice & Peace Scotland, promoting human dignity, rights, and social justice. With his vast experience, he brings a collaborative, open approach to support Scottish Fair Trade’s mission.

Andrew Smith

A champion of Fair Trade and co-operatives, Charles leads the East Ayrshire Fairtrade group and directs Fenwick Weavers. With over 25 years in co-ops and a firefighting background, he's passionate about Scotland's co-operative heritage.

Erin is a 2025 graduate from the University of Glasgow in Economics, and a former intern with Scottish Fair Trade. She is passionate about making profit work for people and the planet.

Ella was CEO of Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council, working with third sector organisations across Scotland. Since retiring, she has been involved with Silver Stag (Scotland) CIC and the Ghanaian Advisory Group, supporting fair trading practices in cocoa production and export to the UK.

Once a Cycling Gardener, Fair Trade coffee shop owner and now freelancer specialising in supporting charities & educators, Josh has seen how powerful Fair Trade is as a means of educating and bringing people together, locally & globally.

Jeannie has 15+ years’ experience in human rights and social sustainability, collaborating with UN agencies and institutional bodies. With an LL.M. in Human Rights and a finance background, Jeannie brings governance, fiduciary expertise, and strategic leadership to support Scottish Fair Trade.

Ken is a finance professional but his interest in fair trade came about after taking time off work to travel. He hopes to use his professional experiences in finance to support fair trade partners from communities like the ones he experienced travelling.

Karena, a former teacher and Educational Psychologist, is a passionate advocate for Fair Trade. Leading Fairtrade groups in Perth and Kinross, she encourages churches, schools, and local authorities to support Fair Trade initiatives.

Liz is the Community Planning and Engagement Manager at Dumfries and Galloway Council. She is a champion for Fair Trade and supports a range of events and initiatives, including Fairtrade Zone status for Dumfries and Galloway.

Vice Chair

Laura is a solicitor based at Livingstone Brown in Glasgow. Her day-to-day role by its nature is deep-rooted in assisting those in need. Laura has also experienced first-hand the positive impact of Fair Trade at grassroots level while travelling in Southern Africa.

Margaret Anne is Chief Operating Officer of Scotmid Co-op. She is a solicitor and has 25 years’ experience. Margaret Anne moved in-house with Scotmid Co-operative in 2021, and has expertise in legal compliance, governance, and strategic leadership, along with practical business insight to support Scottish Fair Trade.

Tabitha, a Glasgow-based advocate for racial equality in education, works at Glasgow Caledonian University. Previously a student leader promoting diversity, she now tackles racial issues in higher education. Recognized for her work, Tabitha champions child literacy through her Kenyan NGO, Kosi Africa.

Global South Liaison Committee

Felix is a Cocoa farmer and a Member of Asetenapa Cocoa Farmers Union, a Fairtrade-certified co-op in Ghana. Felix is passionate about trade justice, youth and women’s empowerment, and is committed to fair trade advocacy and inclusive development in the agricultural sector.

Bernard is Regional Director, WFTO Africa & Middle East, advancing Fair Trade through ethical supply chains, sustainable enterprise development, inclusive markets, and policy advocacy, improveing producer livelihoods, and amplifying Global South voices in international trade.

Bernard Outah

Maria is a Malawian professional with nearly a decade of experience in ethical trade. She is experienced in organisational leadership, global partnerships, and developing inclusive business practices that create sustainable opportunities for marginalised people.

Maria Doreen Chiponde

Aimable has a master’s degree in project management. He manages and coordinates coffee processing, marketing and general coordination and partnership building of the health and nutrition program center in Rwanda.

Ndiuzayani holds a Bachelor's degree in Education (Business Studies). She works as a teacher a Business studies and Accounting at Blantyre Baptist Academy in Malawi. She is also a sugarcane farmer at Kasinthula Cane Growers Limited.

Navika is a student at the University of Edinburgh who believes that fairness in trade starts with fairness in thought. Through the Youth Collective, she hopes to help make ethical choices a more natural part of everyday life.

Lareina is part of the Youth Collective and was drawn to Fair Trade through her curiosity about the people and values behind trade, beyond just profit. She believes Fair Trade is changing the world in a steady and meaningful way, and hopes to contribute her perspective to help ensure young people across Scotland feel represented and inspired to engage with it.

Rebecca is part of the Youth Collective, and through this project, her commitment to sustainability campaigning grew. She is eager to inform young people about the Scottish Fair Trade mission and uplift their voices in a way that creates meaningful change for our planet and its people.

Jemma is a part of the Youth Collective and is doing an Undergraduate in Art and Design. She is passionate about sustainability and has taken part in projects on the Isle of Arran where she grew up, such as volunteering for local organisations.
