Launched today – 8 key policy asks

Scottish Fair Trade has published its policy priorities ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, with a headline call for the ongoing commitment to Scotland’s status as a Fair Trade Nation.

The new policy asks outline how Scotland can strengthen this leadership role by embedding Fair Trade values across procurement, education, business, and international partnerships. They also call for legislation that ensures long-term global responsibility and sustainable development are at the heart of government decision-making.

Louise Davies, Chief Executive of Scottish Fair Trade, said:

“Fair Trade is not just about consumer choices – it’s about rethinking the way our economy works. We want Scotland to continue to lead the way in putting justice, sustainability and human rights at the centre of trade.”
