Fair Trade Education
Fair Trade education can take place anywhere – in nurseries, school classrooms, in colleges and universities, in other groups and club settings, in workplaces, and with the general public.
Fair Trade offers a practical and successful way of doing business and trade in a way that contributes to justice, equity and sustainable development. It exists as an alternative to our current economic system, and puts people and the planet before profit.

Global citizenship
Supporting Fair Trade is global citizenship in action and is in line with the Scottish Government’s commitment to Learning for Sustainability for every 3-18 place of education. Scotland is a Fair Trade Nation, which means we are dedicated to tackling global inequalities and to playing our part in reaching the Sustainable Development Goal targets.

climate justice
Over the last few years, attention has focused on the impact of the climate crisis on farmers and workers, particularly in marginalised communities around the world. Fair Trade provides support in dealing with the impact, requires environmental protection by producers, and gives farmers and workers a voice on a global platform.

Fair Trade Education
The goal of Fair Trade education is to raise awareness of the global inequalities and unfairness in the world, particularly in marginalised communities dealing with the global poverty epidemic and the climate crisis.
Fair Trade is a partnership between producers and consumers. Through fair, sustainable and ethical buying choices, we can support a different way of doing business and trade. We can use our voices and take action to tell others about how Fair Trade can be transformative and better the lives of those who do business and trade fairly.
